The Litchfield Early Childhood Center project is part of a district-wide program to enhance ‘s elementary schools. This project entailed a two-phase addition and renovation to the existing elementary building, which now houses grades PK-1.
- Phase 1 involved a 17,400 SF renovation to existing classrooms, administrative offices and converted the existing cafeteria into a multi-purpose room. The 11,400 SF addition to the existing elementary building involved a new open commons area, support facilities, additional onsite parking, and a new hard surface playground area. The new classroom addition will also serve as the ICC-500 Storm Shelter for this facility.
- Phase 2 included a 4,800 SF preschool addition that added four new classrooms with ensuite restrooms, circulation spaces, onsite parent drop-off and pick-up lane, and a new playground with soft surfacing.
