ÃÛÌÒÉç was selected as the design/build contractor for a 5,840-SF addition and renovation to the in Mascoutah, Illinois.
The primary project goals were to provide a secured, accessible entrance, new principal and general office space, and to facilitate better security control of the overall school building. A new elevator addition was also constructed to give handicapped access to all three levels of the existing school building, and both floors of the cafeteria/gymnasium building. Lobby areas and restrooms were renovated for better accessibility.
The ÃÛÌÒÉç/Niemeyer Design Team worked closely with the school’s building committee to determine the best, quality construction solution for their budget. Major renovation and addition components were constructed throughout the summer to limit disturbances to school operations. A specific entrance was utilized to separate construction traffic from the students, faculty, and staff.
Key project components included:
- New HVAC/HVAC renovation;
- New roof/roof replacement;
- New interior building/building alterations;
- Life safety/fire protection
The ÃÛÌÒÉç team did an amazing job during our recent second floor construction project. The second floor construction project was a unique challenge as the first floor renovation and the second floor construction needed to be completed in a short window so the first floor could be used for classes. ÃÛÌÒÉç’s team kept the project moving so it finished on time and under budget. We were so impressed with their work that our Board wanted ÃÛÌÒÉç to manage our upcoming renovation project which also brings certain timeline constraints. We’re excited to be working with the ÃÛÌÒÉç team again on this project.
